Ham & Cheese Sammies

My girls have never really been big sandwich eaters. They don't like peanut butter and jelly. They don't like turkey and cheese. They haven't been thrilled with egg sandwiches. They would rather have some meat and cheese on a plate and eat it plain. And that was ok with me.

I stumbled upon some nice ham at the Farmer's Market recently, and bought some of the real, homemade cheese from a local farmer. And of course, the bakery had their ever so fresh and wonderfully smelling breads available so I bought some of that as well.

And I tried something, I figured the girls wouldn't like, but I knew I would!

I took the ham, sliced it thin and boiled it in water. I sliced the bread thinner than normal and toasted it. I put cheese on the bread and added the ham. My youngest daughter was so excited, she called them ham and cheese sliders. They have them at school, which I didn't know, and she loves them.

Just remember to keep this meal healthy for the kids to use lean ham.
